Mallory & Cole: Engaged!
[intro]We adore Mallory and Cole! They are such a great couple! We asked Mallory to spill all the details about how their love story and here’s what she had to say:[/intro]How did you guys meet?
We met in a pretty typical Utah setting… the YSA Ward. The story is a bit different depending on whom you ask. Cole says that he had literally taken ever girl in his Singles ward out on a date and that when he saw me, “my beauty surpassed any other he had every seen” (Such a sweetie). He seems to think that the boys that were sitting close by me were going to ask me out, so he had to “swoop in” and make sure that he had his opportunity. I on the other hand, just happened to go to a random singles ward that week and was pleasantly surprised by a random boys kindness. I had been trying to make plans to go to California with my brother and sister-in-law for the weekend, but nothing seemed to work out and so I ended up staying at my parent’s house for the weekend. On Sunday, I wanted to attend a singles ward, seeing I was single, and it just so happened that I picked Cole’s ward. I sat down on the back row and before I knew it a cute and very kind boy asked to sit by me. We ended up talking for basically the majority of the meeting, reverent right!? Anyways, he asked me if I ever went on dates, I laughed and said yes, he asked for my number…. That was that.
First thoughts about one another after you met?
Mallory: I recall thinking that he was a really nice guy, but too young. I appreciated his boldness and courage to just come up and sit by me, have a conversation, and then ask me out.
Cole: My first thoughts of Mal after we met were that I would be one lucky guy if she would date me long enough to marry me.
Who said “I love you” first?
Cole said that he loved me first.

Tell us about your first date:
Our first date was a lot of fun. Cole asked me if I would go with him to his family ward party. He picked me up in his big red truck and then he actually took me straight to his house were I met his mother. Not too long after that he took me to the party were I met his sister and his dad. We helped his dad with a piñata, helped his sister clean up (which included Cole eating a random pretzel off the ground by accident?) After the party we went for ice cream and had good conversation, later we also went down by Utah lake and went for a walk, talked some more…Cole ended up “accidently taking my bracelet” which ended up being a good excuse for him to contact me and ask me out again.
Tell us about your first kiss:
One night Cole was talking me home, we were walking to the door when we reached the back of his truck he kissed me. It was nice.
How did he propose?
Cole had mentioned multiple times throughout the week that he wanted to go up to the castle (one of our favorite spots) for a walk on the following Saturday. On Saturday he came and picked me up fairly early and seemed to be in a bit of a rush so I had a slight feeling that something was going on. We went to his house and had some breakfast and then made our way to the castle. We walked around and were just talking when Cole said that he had a “rock in his shoe.” He knelt down to get it out of his shoe, and I continued walking. He told me that he wanted me to come back and see the rock, when I turned around he was on one knee holding the ring and asked me to marry him.
