Emily and Boyd: Engaged!
[intro]Emily and Boyd recently were married! Yay! We’re so excited for them and wanted to know more about how they fell in love. They gave up all the details in this fun interview![/intro]
How did you meet?
Emily: He gave a talk in sacrament meeting the Sunday after Valentine’s Day. I went up after church to compliment him on it and he was a goner.
First thoughts about one another after you met?
Emily: I honestly thought he was an all-around good guy, but I didn’t have romantic intentions until after our first date.
Boyd: I thought she was the most beautiful girl I had met, and I was under the impression that she is much smarter than me, and I loved that about her. I wanted to go on a date with her really badly.
Who said “I love you” first?
Emily: Boyd did. But I was pretty sure I loved him then too.

Tell us about your first date:
Emily: I called him to ask him to the girl’s choice dance our stake was throwing on Saturday, but he told me that he already had been asked. But, a true gentleman, he asked me to go out to dinner with him on Friday since he was already busy on Saturday. And I said yes. We went out to Chinese food, and I impressed him with my chop stick skills. He impressed me with his art of conversation, and we spent the whole night talking.
Tell us about your first kiss:
It was on General Conference weekend, and it was exactly one month after we had decided to date exclusively.
How did you know he/she was the one?
Emily: He did such a good job at convincing me, there really was no question 🙂
Boyd: I put in the effort to find out more about her every time I met her, and I liked everything about her more and more. I also prayed about it a lot.
How did he propose?
Emily:He took me on an early morning hike into Payson canyon, and he proposed behind the waterfall that was at the end of the hike. I was completely surprised.
What are the top 5 things you love about each other?
Emily: He loves the temple. He is always considerate to those around him. He calls me in the mornings just to say I love you. He makes my family his own. And he made me fall in love with him.
Boyd: She loves the temple. She is amazing at planning and organizing things. She always speaks with a very gentle tone and attitude. I can have wonderful, philosophical conversations with her. And she helps me grasp and accomplish my personal goals.
