Alicks & Ryan: Engaged
[intro]Alicks and Ryan are awesome! They have been a couple for a long time, and we asked them to tell us all about their love story. It’s really cute, you’ve got to read all about it:[/intro]How did you guys meet?
Alicks: “My friend asked me to hang out, and go down to Salt Lake. I really didn’t have anything going on so I said sure. So, we got to the Gateway, and my friend introduced us (Ryan and I.) We went to the arcade that was in The Gateway at the time, and I destroyed him at air hockey.”
Ryan: “That is totally not true. You did not win.”
First thoughts about one another after you met?
Ryan: “That she was the most gorgeous human being I’d ever seen, but she’d never like me.”
Alicks: “Well, I thought he was kinda cute. But I also thought he was really weird. He had to have his friend ask my friend to get my number.”

Who said “I love you” first?
Alicks: “Ryan did. It was really cute. We were wrestling and he pulled me off the bed and snuggled me on the floor and whispered ‘hey, i love you.’ in my ear.”
Tell us about your first date:
Ryan: “We never really had an official ‘first date’, we just ended up hanging out all day the first day we met.”
Alicks: “Yeah, we drove up the 12th street canyon in Ogden. Ryan’s driving gave my friend an anxiety attack. We had a bonfire. And Ryan tried to drift around a corner on Old Snow Basin Road, and almost killed us. Hahah.”
Ryan: “We also thought we set a mountain on fire.”
Tell us about your first kiss:
Ryan: “Finally, after a month of me being to scared to even hold her hand, I finally just did it one day when I was dropping her off at home.”
How did you know he/she was the one?
Alicks: “I always found myself coming back, I always missed him when we weren’t talking. I felt a constant void inside of me that couldn’t be filled. But then we finally got back together after about a year, and everything made sense.”
Ryan: “That’s how it was for me as well, I’d talk to my friends and say, ‘oh, i’ll never get married… unless it’s to Alicks.’ No matter how long we would be apart I could never stop thinking about her or how to start talking other again. Anytime she would send me a text or even like one of my photos on Instagram I would get so excited.”
How did he propose?
Alicks: “I knew he was going to, like he’s really bad at being subtle. He asked me if I wanted to go out to dinner with his brother and his fiancé at The Old Spaghetti Factory. He was so nervous on the way there, I just knew something was up. And after we had finished eating, he got me a spider balloon animal, and then awkwardly (but cute nonetheless) he got down on one knee. I definitely cried.”
