Amy & Matthew
[intro]We’ve known Amy and Matthew for a long time! We’ve kept in touch since we photographed their fun wedding. Big things have been happening for them, they’ve purchased a home and are starting to fill the walls with photos of their story together. Read all about how they met, and be prepared to fall in love with this couple:[/intro]
We met at a Shakespeare workshop of Midsummer Night’s Dream. I thought he was really tall and seemed nice. Matthew says he thought I’d make a good Hermia (a character from the play).
Matthew said “I love you” first, and it was over a text. However, he wasn’t being a bum. He was about to go on a girls choice date with someone else, and I was freaking out. So he was reassuring me, and we could only text right at that moment.
I don’t really know for first date; we were friends first and that gradually transitioned into dating.
For first kiss, he tried to get me to kiss him first, but I was having none of that. So he finally kissed me first, but I kissed back.
Everything just clicked from the beginning. We broke up twice because of circumstances, but we just felt like that wasn’t right. I don’t know how to describe it.
We went on a drive up the canyon in October 2011, and we were going to take a walk in the pretty leaves. However, I got tired abruptly after we pulled over, and so I just leaned my seat back. He kissed my hand and slipped the ring on my finger.
What Amy loves about Matthew, in no particular order:
1. He is really helpful around the house, with cleaning and cooking and laundry.
2. He is always willing to put aside what he’s doing if I need him.
3. He does little cute things for me without being asked, from buying me flowers from the grocery store as a surprise to running downstairs to get me something I forgot when we are getting ready for bed.
4. He is always a perfect gentleman. He always opens doors for me, walks on the street side of the sidewalk, carries things for me, etc.
5. If I let him know something bothers me, he immediately works to change it. That means I have to remember to be considerate and weigh if it’s a big deal or if I need to just get over it. Also, he is always the first to apologize if we have a disagreement.

What Matthew loves about Amy In no particular order:
1, Amy is very organized and keeps the house clean on top of a part time job and being in a show with me. She also likes to have dinner ready when I get home and she’s a great cook on top of it all. She’s amazing like that.
2, She loves to spend time with me, and is always careful to do things that I want to do as well as what she wants.
3, She does little nice things like leaving love notes for me on the fridge or on little slips of paper.
4, Amy will give me random hugs and kisses throughout the day.
5, She has an innate talent for bringing out the beauty in everything around her, accepts herself with all her faults, but works so hard to be the best she can be; makes me want to do the same.
