It’s Raining It’s Pouring. . .
[intro]Today it rained nearly all day. At some points it crazy cats and dogs rained. Why wouldn’t we take that opportunity to go play in it at the zoo?!? The night before, I promised the kids that we could go see the Lego Exhibit at The Phoenix Zoo today. When we woke up to the questionable weather, Hailey said, “I guess we’re not going today.”[/intro]
I said, “Why not?!?”
I’m glad we went through with it! It was SO much fun! Right when we got there there was a massive downpour, but we didn’t turn around. Memories, right? (I can just see my kids in the future reminiscing about the time we went to the zoo during a monsoon.)
We had the entire place almost to ourselves. Front row parking. There were a few other random people here and there. We laughed with about how hilarious it was that we were all drenched. It was the perfect way to spend the day after school. All the kids loved that there were so many animals out and they got to see them up close. Plus, the lego sculptures were incredible and the kids have been building their own lego creations ever since we got done with dinner.

Going to the zoo in the rain is my new favorite! It’s not crowded, it’s not unbearably hot, and it’s completely different from our normal trips to the zoo. By the time we left at closing, the sun came back out and we drip dried enough not to need the heater on in the car on the way home. Who wants to come with us next time it rains?
