Larissa and Daniel: Married
[intro]We want to congratulate Larissa and Daniel on their marriage! They are such a fantastic couple and we were so excited that they made their way to Utah and had us photograph their wedding day. Larissa share with us all the details about how they fell in love:[/intro]
How we met-
Daniel and I met through one of the young single adult wards there’s only one in Fort Collins CO. Daniel moved to Colorado for a job after he graduated from BYU. I was going to school at CSU. I, Larissa am really bad at math and needed help in October 2013. I knew Daniel was smart so I asked him. I don’t think I really liked him until February of 2014.
First thoughts-
I’ll say first thoughts on first date. No joke I thought “whoever gets to marry this man is so lucky. He’s charming and smart and so caring and loves his family”
I love you first
I had been itching to say it for a long time. He finally said it first sitting on an old leather couch in his apartment after we had a huge fight over something stupid I’m sure. I started to cry and told him I had loved him for a long time.
First kiss-
We were sitting on another one of his couches. It was a Saturday night, we were talking and I was saying that there was something I wanted to do. I pressed my forehead against his and he turned his head and kissed me. I was very excited and big blushing mess. We weren’t even together yet haha. Daniel wasn’t sure about me for a long time. That Sunday we had game night and he started to flirt with other girls. I was hurt, after we talked about how I was feeling he decided to take a leap of faith and be my boyfriend. I was his first real girlfriend though he’d dated a lot at BYU.

The one-
I think I always knew he was the man I was supposed to marry. I prayed to Heavenly Father and said if this is wrong stop me. Thankfully, he never did. I grew up in a house where if you wanted something you need to sell your butt off to have it. It came in really handy when it came to Daniel. I wasn’t his type at all I guess and it took a lot of convincing before he decided he wanted me. Daniel is very picky…I’m thankful I made the cut!
The Proposal:
SOO… Over July 4th weekend Daniel and I went to Nevada to visit his family. His brother and his wife came with us on a beautiful hike. I was kinda slow because I was spending time with Dallin, Daniels brothers’ wife Katie. She was slow because she had Peyton, her baby, on her back. So the boys hiked up a way’s ahead of us and soon they were far enough ahead of us that I couldn’t see them. After Katie and I hiked around trying to find them Dallin finally found us and told us there was a great view they had found. So we follow Dallin. It was up an enormous hill and by the time I got to the top I was SO tired. I came up around the corner and rested against two trees that made kind of like a Y in the middle I saw an odd medallion shaped thing. Then, I realized it had writing on it… “Will you Marry Me Larissa?” Surely I thought to myself this MUST be for someone else it’s not for me. I turn around and Daniel is on one knee. OH my GOSH. He say’s “Larissa, I’ve never been more myself with anyone but you, you know my faults and the real me. I love you so dearly, I know that you will make an amazing wife, mom and companion. (Opens the Box) Would you please make me the happiest man and marry me?” I started to cry and of course (duh) I said yes! Then he freaking closes the box. Didn’t even put it on my finger! I asked him, “Well do I get to Wear it?” “oh yeah, of course” He says blushing “I forgot.”. Then we hiked down and It was amazing!!
Top five things
Larissa loves Daniel because:
1.) he’s brilliant
2.) an amazing provider
3.) kind and nurturing
4.) true, strong testimony of the gospel
5.) he’s all mine for time and all eternity
6.) he knows and loves all of my imperfections and finds beauty in them
I could probably go on forever honestly.
