Dress to look like your best self:
Are you casual most the time or do you enjoy dressing up? Pick outfits that you’re comfortable wearing. That being said, We’re looking to create art for you. Wrinkly workout shorts aren’t going to fly, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t look casual and cool if that’s the look you’re going for. Which bring us to our next tip.
Multiple outfits:
We know that most couples aren’t wearing suits and dresses all the time. Think about bring both casual and dressy options, and change half way through the shoot. It will give you more options! You never know which one you’ll actually like better. Plus, sometimes it’s fun to have the dressy outfit in a gritty location- the juxtaposition can awesome.
Layers and Textures:
It’s not always about choosing between solids and patterns. You can mix the same color families or hues but do them in different textures. Or add some great accessories, layer it up with jackets, sweaters, scarfs, cardigans. . . (I’d just recommend not wearing orange, red or bright pinks like fushia. It can start messing with skin tones in post production.) Coordinate your outfits, but don’t make it too matchy-matchy. It’s also fun to find outfits that coordinate well with your wedding colors or themes. When you include your engagement photos in your wedding announcements, or hang them next to your wedding photos you want them to flow and be cohesive.
Shoes:
Be prepared to walk around, you may want to bring an extra pair of flip flops or shoes that are easy to change quickly and comfortable to walk around in. (Be aware of the time of year too, it’s often muddy on location and we don’t want you to ruin your awesome kicks.)
Ladies, I’m going to recommend wearing heels. Yes, I know first hand that they can be uncomfortable, but they make your legs look amazing and look a little more put together. Of course there are tons of cute options for flats as well if heels really aren’t your thing at all. No need to twist an ankle if you’re not used to them.
